Job Description

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION: The Nursing Admin Supervisor holds floor staff accountable for Service Excellence principles as well as huddles, bed side reporting, hourly rounding, AIDET, and the use of the white boards and reports issues to the Nurse Directors as appropriate. RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES: Collaborates with Staffing Coordinator to appropriately staff units. Manages stressful situations effectively and professionally. Delegates appropriately and efficiently as needs are communicated from staff members. Conducts Nursing rounds every 2 hours on all nursing units or as needed. Maximizes patient flow by active involvement/supervision of ER and or activities and admission and discharge opportunities. Appropriately communicates and collaborates with the Administrator on call. Interprets policies and procedures, serving as a resource for staff members. Promotes teamwork. EDUCATION AND WORK EXPERIENCE Graduate of approved Nursing School. 2 years experience as Charge Nurse/Manager. RN, CPR, ACLS, PALS. Basic computer knowledge, medical equipment knowledge. Physical Demands/Work Environment Work requires a variety of physical activities including sitting, standing, walking, bending, stooping, kneeling and lifting. Must be able to physically lift/assist patients onto wheelchairs with minimal assistance when needed. Must be able to sit for extended periods of time. The work environment may be physically confining. Must have normal hearing or utilize adaptive hearing devices. Visual acuity is required for a variety of activities.
