MEDICAL TECHNOLOGIST

Under the direction of the Laboratory Manager, the Medical Technologist completes appropriate laboratory testing. The Medical Technologist must demonstrate the ability to work with neonates, infants, children, adults, and geriatric persons. He/She participates in performance improvement activities within the department and participates in CQI activities. Currently registered MT or eligible for registration, ASCP or equivalent. Prior experience preferred. New hires may be trained into the position.

Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities:

•      Currently registered MLT or eligible for registration, ASCP or equivalent. 
•       Associate 2-year Science Degree or equivalent experience.
•       Minimum of 5 years experience required.  Supervisory or lead personnel experience preferred.
•       Must be willing to meet the on-call requirements of the position, including the ability to respond to the facility within the required time frames while on call for the facility.
•       Ability to read and communicate effectively in English.
•       Strong written and verbal skills.
•       Basic computer knowledge.
•       Basic clerical skills.
•       Ability to communicate with tact and professionalism.
•       Expresses ideas in a clear, creative and succinct manner.
•       Flexibility for shift rotation within the department.
