The Manager of the Clinical Information Manager (CIM)Program will be responsible for overseeing the Ronald Reagan UCLA MedicalCenter Emergency Department CIM Program, with a focus on administration, training, andeducation as they relate to ED process flows. Duties include: [1]recruitment, hiring, training and supervision of ~25 part time CIMs; [2]quality assurance of documentation for accuracy and completeness for physicianbilling; [3] monitoring and addressing the strengths and weaknesses of theprogram including quality of documentation, completeness of charts from a billingand coding standpoint, and satisfaction of ED Physicians. The CIM ProgramManager may also need to work in the ED as a CIM and therefore must meet allrequirements outlined in the "UCLA ED Clinical Information Manager (CIM) JobDescription." The Manager of this Program will also be asked toparticipate in other administrative activities related to the RR-UCLA emergencydepartment as well as the Department of Emergency Medicine. These will includeimproving efficiency, patient satisfaction, patient throughput, and CareConnect optimization. The targeted annual salary range is: $50,700.00-$100,300.00
Qualifications

Required: * Demonstrated strong leadership skills. * Demonstrated interpersonal skills to effectively and diplomatically interact with others. * 2-3 years of relevant experience * Ability to proofread very detailed materials and monitor work accurately. * Ability to interview, train, supervise, and evaluate a frequently changing number of employees. Demonstrated strong organizational skills. * Ability to maintain confidentiality of sensitive patient records and conversations. Knowledge of E&M codes and the level of documentation necessary for each billing level. * Knowledge and skill in using various computer programs, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Medhost, Visio, and Outlook. * Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills. * Detailed knowledge of medical terminology. * Ability to maintain equanimity in the face of resistance, indifference, or hostility. Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with co-workers, faculty, residents, students, University representatives, patients, and the public. * Previous experience working as an ED CIM. Ability to personally perform as a CIM. * Willingness to work a flexible schedule which may include evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
