Description

The Department of Medicine and Division of Nephrology is looking for an experienced and motivated Lab Technician (Staff Research Associate III) to assist in the facilitation of complex research experiments in the Kurtz laboratory. In this role, you will work under the direction of Dr. Ira Kurtz as well as the Lab Manager and collaborate closely with research colleagues in the Lab. You ill be responsible for the oversight and management of all experiments in addition to coordinating all experiments for NIH sponsored projects and assisting the Division Chief and Lab Manager in all aspects of KURTZ lab experiments process flow. Target annual rate: $62,326.80 - $100,224.00
Qualifications

Required: · Certification in use of radioactive material · Minimum of five years experience in research laboratory · Skilled in tissue culture techniques; experience with established cell lines with primary cultures required · Ability and knowledge in use of laboratory equipment · Ability to design and modify experiments as necessary based on experimental results · Ability to interact and communicate with a diverse group of laboratory personnel · Ability and knowledge to operating laboratory equipment such as: a) Acrylamide and agarose electrophoresis, b) Centrifuge, c) Spectrophotometer, d) Microscope, e) Coulter counter, f) Image digitizer, g) Gel dryer/vacuum pump, h) Personal computer/word processing/graphics/ data analysis software · Demonstrated ability in automated patch clamping · Demonstrated ability in BCECF measurements in HEK cells · Demonstrated ability in use of MTS reagents Preferred: • B.S./B.A. • Masters degree
