Transporter, Surgery

Transport and/or assist with transportation and transfer of patients, as necessary. This person is responsible for obtaining beds, stretchers, transporting or transfer of patients as well as assisting with movement of equipment and preparation of the operating/procedure rooms as directed. Interact with patients, family and visitors of all age groups. The transporter may be requested to assist with cleaning of operating and procedure rooms.

Responsibilities:

• Tactfully and pleasantly interact with patients, families, and visitors of all ages.
• Accurately and carefully use equipment to move patients throughout DRH facilities.
• Assist with moving equipment and preparing operating or procedure rooms.
• Assist with organizing and cleaning operating or procedure rooms as needed.
• Regular attendance and punctuality for scheduled shifts.
• Must adhere to safety protocols at all times.
• Implement DRH Standards of Behavior and exhibit behaviors consistent with DRH core values.
• Per DRH policy, all required conditions of employment must be met and maintained including required vaccinations.
• Performs other related duties as assigned by the supervisor.

High School diploma or GED. Ability to accurately and carefully move equipment in order to transport patients throughout the facility. Ability to follow oral and written instructions and effectively communicate with customers. Ability to follow applicable regulations, policies, and/or procedures. Ability to work a flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays. Ability to adapt procedures, processes, tools, equipment, and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position.
