Job Description
The primary purpose of the Supervising Advanced Practice Nurse for Palliative Care is to provide a collaborative and interdisciplinary environment, contributes professional and clinical nursing expertise to nursing units and/or patient population to ensure the delivery of high quality nursing care. Scope of practice will encompass:
‐ Expert clinical practice
‐ Consultation
‐ Education/Coach to patients, families and other health care professionals
‐ Collaboration
‐ Patient Advocacy
‐ Leadership/Mentorship clinical, professional and system‐wide
Specifically, the advanced practice nurse with a palliative care specialty will provide consultative services.
Qualifications
Certified as an Advanced Practice Nurse in the State of New Jersey. Three (3) years of nursing experience in Emergency Department, Critical Care, Medical/Surgical or Perioperative servicesrequired. One (1) year of experience as an Advanced Practice Nurse in Emergency, Critical Care, Adult or Family Medicine preferred. Must have, or obtain within one (1) year of date of hire, Advanced Certified Hospital and Palliative Nurse (ACHPN) Board Certification. AHA BLS (CPR) Certification required.
