Pharmacy Technician/Inpatient/UKHC

UK HealthCare is seeking motivated, patient-centered individuals interested in pursuing a career as a pharmacy technician. The UKHC Pharmacy Technician Academy will allow you to enjoy the pay and benefits of a UK employee, while also receiving on the job training, hands-on experience, and instructor guided learning. In addition, you will have access to numerous resources and study materials. The program is 16 weeks long, and is designed to prepare you for the National Pharmacy Technician Certification exam. As a Pharmacy Technician Academy employee, you will train and work as a full-time team member within the Department of Pharmacy Services. There are a variety of different pharmacy technician roles within the department in both inpatient and outpatient settings. You will gain exposure to these different settings of pharmacy through program participation. This program is unique to UK HealthCare in that the department covers the cost of the program and certification exam as long as certain criteria are met. This position has been identified as supporting UK HealthCare, which receives funding from the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). Therefore, all individuals hired into this position must comply with the federal CMS mandate issued in March of 2022. This mandate requires all new hires to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or obtain an approved medical or religious exemption as a condition of employment. Start of employment cannot occur until two weeks after receiving the full COVID-19 vaccination series or upon obtaining an approved exemption. Only vaccines approved by the World Health Organization can be accepted.
