Job Description
The Assistant Administrator is a senior University Hospital administrator reporting directly to the President & CEO. The primary function of the position is to provide executive level leadership, direction, and operational management to a portfolio of projects identified by the President as key to accelerating the advancement of University Hospital (“UH”).
Qualifications
Master’s Degree in Administration, Health Policy, or a related field is required. Seven (7) years of management level experience in corporate, health care, government, or regulatory services required. Two (2) years of experience with managed care contracting required. Must be able to work independently, articulate University Hospital leadership’s vision, and possess the ability to succeed in a complex and rapidly changing environment. Must possess excellent interpersonal skills, including superior written and oral communication skills, and the ability to function successfully in a team environment. Demonstrated knowledge of how to accomplish superior performance in a unionized environment is preferred. Additional related professional experience may be substituted for the degree on a year-for-year basis.
Working knowledge of all MS Suite products. Strong critical thinking, organizational, decisive judgment, communication, and customer service skills. Be able to handle multiple tasks, be able to work in a fast-paced environment, and take appropriate actions as needed. The ability and desire to follow hospital and departmental policies and procedures at all times.
Capable of assisting the Chief Executive Officer with performing assigned administrative duties that may include budgetary, accounting, purchasing, payroll, business analysis, or related services.
Able to quickly and efficiently assessing operations challenges and producing solutions.
