MaineHealth is seeking an experienced and motivated Supervisor – Pharmacy Technicians to join our Pharmacy team at Maine Medical Center in Portland, Maine. In this leadership role, you will oversee daily workflow, support and coach pharmacy technicians, and help ensure safe, accurate, and efficient medication distribution across our department. This position is ideal for someone who is passionate about team development, operational excellence, and high‑quality patient care.

 

What You’ll Do

  • Supervise, support, and mentor pharmacy technicians in daily operations.
  • Coordinate workload assignments to ensure timely and accurate medication dispensing.
  • Train new team members and support ongoing staff education and competency assessments.
  • Monitor compliance with department policies, quality standards, and regulatory requirements.
  • Collaborate with pharmacists, providers, and other clinical teams to optimize patient care.
  • Assist with inventory management, including purchasing, stock rotation, and waste reduction.
  • Participate in performance evaluations and help maintain a positive, solutions‑focused workplace.

 

What We’re Looking For

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education preferred.
  • Current Pharmacy Technician certification (CPhT) required.
  • Minimum 2–3 years of pharmacy technician experience, preferably in a hospital or health‑system setting.
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred.
  • Strong communication, problem‑solving, and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced clinical environment.
