Counseling: Provide case management and individual and group counseling services to patients.

Patient Interviewing: Conducts patient and family interviews in a professional and thorough manner.

Patient Teaching: Presents educational modules to enhance patient communication skills, coping skills, assertive behavior, etc.

Treatment Planning: Attends staff meetings and participates in the formulation of treatment and discharge plans.

Charting: Monitors, measures, and documents patient progress during treatment.

Represent Behavioral Health in occasional interviews, articles and events as needed for community education.

Provide guidance and training to Associate and Provisional level Mental Health Counselors
Job Knowledge:
-
Master’s degree in social work, counseling or related field.

Must be Licensed Clinical/Certified Social Worker, fully Licensed Professional Counselor or fully Licensed in Marriage and Family Therapy.

Must have completed the required number of clinical hours for professional licensure

Must be able to function independently and work with a treatment team including psychiatrist, NP’s and nursing.

Must be able to work with insurance companies and businesses to assure optimal patient care.

Two years’ clinical experience in an inpatient or outpatient psychiatric required
The incumbent must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to demonstrate the knowledge and skills necessary to work with adult and geriatric patients.
