JOB SUMMARY
The MRI Technologist at North Mississippi Health Services is responsible for performing MRI procedures in compliance with physicians' orders and department policies, which includes patient screening, explanation of exams, and IV injections for contrast studies. This position requires strong leadership skills to cross-train other technologists and manage daily schedules efficiently, excellent human relations skills to interact with patients, families, departments, and physicians, and problem-solving abilities to ensure smooth patient flow and adherence to policies and procedures.
JOB
FUNCTIONS
Perform MRI procedures according to Physicians orders and Department policies.
Screening pre-MRI for metals and implanted devices.
Explain each exam to patient and family.
Start IV injections for contrast studies.
To ensure all policies and procedures set by the radiology department.
To ensure the best quality exam is performed.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education
Associate's Degree . Required
Licenses and Certifications
ARRT - American Registry of Radiologic Technologists. ARRT certification. Upon Hire. Required
Work Experience
Less than 1 year. 6 months MRI experience or willing to train. Required
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
the ability to perform MRI procedures unassisted.
Crosstrain other technologist and complete daily schedule in a reasonable time
Must interact with patients and families, other departments and physicians to enhance the radiology department and hospital.
