Job Summary: To assist in the development, implementation, and coordination of a variety of programs designed to meet the orientation, training, and educational needs of all personnel assigned to the operative area. To design, organize and or teach in-service materials relevant to the operative staff. To serve as consultant in operative area of clinical specialty. To assist with planning and carrying out special hospital and community programs as required. To develop and coordinate yearly competencies for all perioperative staff.
Qualifications: Current RN license to practice in NC (NC licensure or multi-state (compact) license). BSN required; MSN preferred. CNOR certification is required at hire or within 6 months after hire. At least 2 to 5 years' experience in operative services. Knowledge of general nursing principles, methods, and techniques. Expertise in performing nursing procedures in the operative setting. Skill in developing and implementing orientation, continuing education and community programs for the operating room staff.
