In the Scheduler / Coordinator role, you will be responsible for clerical functions in the Diagnostic Imaging areas.  He/she acts as a receptionist, performs tasks necessary to schedule patients, coordinate communication and provides clerical support to the clinical staff to include typing, filing, answering phones, and data entry in computer.

  • Location: Anacortes, WA
  • Schedule: Full Time / Days
  • Salary Range: $24.61 – $36.56 per hour

What you will be doing:

  • Answers phone and takes messages or directs calls to appropriate person when suitable. Relays urgent messages and returns calls as necessary.  Facilitates communication to physicians, patients and staff regarding schedule timing and changes. 
  • Schedules consultations, appointments and procedures for all areas of responsibility allowing adequate time for procedure and turnover. Elicits all necessary information, verifying accuracy in spelling, dates, times, and complete procedural scheduling.  Relays information regarding special equipment requests to appropriate department(s).  Enters schedule into computer.  Makes copies of schedule and distributes.
  • Utilizes computer to obtain copies of appropriate lab work, demographic data and other pertinent information. Obtains results of tests and places with present exam information.  Uses MS Office products to develop, format and edit forms as needed for departmental efficiency.
  • Makes up blank patient charts. Checks for completeness of pre-exam, preparations, i.e., H&P, Consents, prior films and any ordered lab work.  Flags exams for incomplete paperwork and work to resolve.
  • Picks up items from Materials Management if needed. Sends via interoffice mail correspondence to necessary departments.   Orders office supplies as needed, maintaining par levels.
  • Maintains a safe and clean work area to promote patient and visitor satisfaction and increase efficiency.
  • Must have demonstrated ability to interact positively with Administration, Directors, Managers, Supervisors, peers, co-workers, subordinates, patients and visitors.
  • Must meet regular attendance standard and must stay at or below average sick leave utilization levels

What you will bring to the role:

  • Highschool Diploma required, advanced two(2) year degree preferred. Minimum HS Diploma.
  • Minimum six (6) months medical clerical training/experience desired.
  • Maintain calm and positive attitude in stressful situations. Have the ability to respond to changing workload and work environment. 
  • The Imaging Support Scheduler/Coordinator shall engage in a variety of activities and behaviors that characterize professionals. Must have the ability to maintain professionalism at all times.
  • Ability to complete work tasks in timely manner.
  • Ability to accept accountability for actions daily by utilization of self-evaluation, patient evaluations, and supervisor evaluations to modify job performance.
  • Ability to articulate and demonstrate professional image of Department Scheduler/Coordinator to patients, other professionals, and the public as evidenced by level of practice.
  • Must maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with hospital policy and HIPPA guidelines.
