Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Knowledge of sprinkler and irrigation systems. Knowledge of applicable safety procedures. Skills in operating light equipment, including backhoe, forklift, tractors, ditch witch, and scissor lift. Ability to withstand heights of 35 feet. Verbal and written communication skills. Ability to withstand exposure to external weather conditions and airborne particles, and to work with or around moving mechanical parts and chemicals. Ability to plan, organize, and schedule work.

Responsibilities

• Plans and supervises the removal of leaves, grass, dirt, rubbish, and refuse from the grounds.
• Participates and assists in planning the cultivation, pruning, spraying, and planting of grass shrubs, and trees.
• Coordinates equipment operations and maintains control over tools, equipment, and supplies.
• Assists in the removal and storage of radioactive waste under the supervision of a safety officer.
• Ensures proper care and operation of equipment; promotes continuous improvement in workplace safety and environmental practices.
• Maintains records and completes applicable reports.
• Utilizes pressure washer to maintain cleanliness of buildings, sidewalks, trash compactor rooms and other surfaces.

Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires frequent exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, frequent handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, occasional exposure to bio-hazardous conditions such as risk of radiation exposure, blood borne pathogens, fumes or airborne particles, and/or toxic or caustic chemicals which mandate attention to safety considerations, occasional working hours significantly beyond regularly scheduled hours, occasional travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, occasional work produced subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting and carrying up to 100 pounds, occasional climbing, occasional crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, frequent driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, occasional sitting, frequent standing, occasional twisting, and frequent walking.
