Understanding of major issues and trends in healthcare and philanthropy. Grasp of the complexities of a medical center environment preferred. Ability to learn appropriate levels of information about a broad range of health disciplines and interdisciplinary areas related to campaign efforts. Knowledge of development database applications. Computer skills including ability to manage and query data in development-related database. Outstanding organizational and time management skills. Superior writing skills. Deadline-driven, with a commitment to donor relationships and the ability to independently drive multiple projects and sub-projects. Ability to build effective, collaborative relationships internally with departments, program staff, physicians, and other internal constituents. Effective communication skills and collaboration with external stakeholders and community supporters. Critical thinking skills. Ability to assess processes and work flow. Physical and Environmental Demands
Requires no exposure to unpleasant or disagreeable physical environment such as high noise level and exposure to heat and cold, no handling or working with potentially dangerous equipment, no working hours beyond regularly scheduled hours, frequent travelling to offsite locations, occasional activities subject to significant volume changes of a seasonal/clinical nature, constant work produced is subject to precise measures of quantity and quality, occasional bending, occasional lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, occasional lifting/carrying up to 25 pounds, no lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, no lifting/carrying up to 75 pounds, no lifting/carrying up to100 pounds, no lifting/carrying 100 pounds or more, no climbing, no crawling, occasional crouching/stooping, occasional driving, occasional kneeling, occasional pushing/pulling, occasional reaching, constant sitting, frequent standing, no twisting, and occasional walking (occasional-up to 20%, frequent-from 21% to 50%, constant-51% or more).

The University of Mississippi Medical Center, located in Jackson, is the state’s only academic medical center.
