We are currently seeking (1) Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapist for our Cahokia Schools!
This is a 9-month (academic school year) position!
Job Summary:
The Outpatient Behavioral Health Therapist provides quality direct and indirect patient care to adolescents in the School District on an annual contract basis.
Functions and Duties:
· Maintains accurate program and client documentation, including medical records.
· Conducts brief psychological assessments, develops and implements a plan of treatment, facilitates referrals, and follow-up treatment.
· Demonstrates knowledge and skills to work with diverse group of clients based upon diagnoses and age specific needs.
· Provides individual therapy and family sessions.
· Documentation will be completed timely and accurately.
· Provides appropriate discharge planning for clients to include assisting the client with setting up discharge appointments.
· Acts as a liaison between client, families and facilities for continuity of care and referral process.
· Participates in clinical supervision.
· Participates in the identification, implementation and evaluation of department goals and objectives.
· Maintains a safe environment monitoring continuously.
· Provides crisis screening and services as needed.
· Attends in-services, trainings, and meetings as required. Maintains annual competencies as assigned by the Hospital and Department.
· Adheres to staffing and scheduling policy.
· Follow chain of command to resolve issues or problems identified.
· Promotes harmonious relationships among the health care team and internal/external clients or students.
· Supports and demonstrates the organization mission and philosophy through self-example.
· Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education and Licensure
· Masters in social work, psychology, counseling, family therapy or therapy field required.
· Licensure is not required for the position, but candidates must be ELIGIBLE to get licensure as a LCPC, LCSW, or LMFT in the state of Illinois.
Experience
· 2 year’s experience in a behavioral health is preferred.
Certifications, Licenses, and Registrations
· BLS obtained during orientation period and maintained.
· De-Escalation training obtained during orientation period and maintained.
Skills and Abilities
· Standard office equipment (i.e., copier, facsimile machine, 10-key, etc.).
· Computer literate and experienced with computer programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook 365, and Excel.
· Knowledge of counseling theory, crisis interventions, individual, family, and group therapy modalities.
· Knowledge of the DSM5 (Diagnostic Statistical Manual 5) and the State of Illinois mental Health and Developmental Disabilities Act.
· Ability to handle multiple tasks and manage time efficiently.
· Must be able to work independently with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgement and initiative.
· Requires a concentrated level of attention with a high level of organizational skill.
· Ability to effectively communicate and interact with clients, visitors, and organization personnel and perform in a positive, courteous, flexible, an adaptive manner, both orally and written.
Physical Demands:
· Sit or stand for a prolonged period of time.
· Regular working with and viewing of computer screens.
· Reaching by extending hands or and/or arms in any direction.
· Finger dexterity for using computer mouse, keyboard, etc..
· Requires regular talking and hearing.
· Requires standing and walking.
· Ability to adjust the eye to bring an object into sharp focus
· Ability to lift box of paper
· Must be able to wear personal protective equipment (PPE) (mask, gown, gloves) when required
