Job Summary: Perform a variety of electroneurodiagnostic tests including routine electroencephalography, and various other tests used for seizure deduction and other neurological abnormalities. Assist as needed with operative procedures requiring neurodiagnostic monitoring. Serve as liaison among patient, provider, specialist and insurance company. Process authorizations as applies to each managed care insurer. Maintain physician scheduling, assist patient at check-in, accurate data entry of all demographics, charges and payments, answer phones, take messages, file charts and documentation into charts, maintain supplies.
Qualifications: High School diploma or equivalent. Current registration with ABRET or ABRET eligible. No formal post-graduate work experience required. Considerable knowledge of neurodiagnostic terminology, procedures, and techniques. Considerable skill in performing neurodiagnostic procedures. Ability to interact tactfully with patients, physicians, and hospital personnel. Experience in intraoperative monitoring, MSLT, Video-EEG, preferred. Six months customer service experience, preferably in healthcare, intermediate computer skills. Good customer service and telephone skills. Knowledge of health insurance and CPT / ICD-9 preferred but not required. Good initiative and organizational skills.
