JOB SUMMARY:
Renders professional nursing care to patients undergoing procedures in the cardiac catheterization lab. Provides medical care as directed by the physician, and pursuant to the objectives and policies of the hospital, and the Cath Lab.
Dept Info: Around 1000 patients/ procedures each year. Each patient is cared for by a team. We do balloon angioplasty, stents, ICDs and pacemakers. We can unblock vessels in the heart, extremities, kidneys. We do imaging of vessels from the brain down to the feet.
SCHEDULE: Day Shift 7am-5:30pm: 4 (10 hour shifts) between Mon-Fri (rotate day off) *NO call, weekends or holidays
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION: Graduate from an accredited school of registered nursing with a current licensure in the state of Alabama.
EXPERIENCE:
• One to two years experience in general nursing.
• One to two years experience in critical care.
• Two years of Cath Lab experience preferred.
LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR REGISTRATIONS:
• Current Alabama Registered Nursing license
• CPR certification
• ACLS certification
• Conscious / Moderate Sedation Certified
EQUIPMENT, TOOLS, WORK AIDS:
• Office machines (i.e., copier, fax, telephone)
• Computer terminal/personal computer
• Power tools
• Diagnostic equipment
• Patient therapeutic equipment/machines (suction, IV pumps, etc.)

SPECIALIZED KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:
• Must demonstrate the ability to understand the unique cardiac needs of different age groups of patients treated.
• Must collaborate with other members of the nursing team as well as ancillary personnel to provide total patient care as deemed necessary by the individual patient’s needs.
